Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab
$50 in 1950

Gilbert atomic energy lab

This included a geiger counter, cloud chamber, bits of uranium ore, and other sources of radiation.   If you Google "most dangerous toy", this is likely to pop up. See the YouTube video here .

Nothing wrong with giving a kid some Uranium to play with! We played with Mercury and didn't effect us at all.......

$50 in 1950/51!  A pricy toy, even as an educational one ($550 in 2022).

But perhaps the inspiration for a whole generation of nuclear scientists of the 60's.

I first encountered this last weekend at the Napa Valley Museum in Yountville, California, where they had a special exhibit on dangerous toys.  This is also where I discovered Space Jumping Shoes.
