Nowadays, it's for the grownups, too. But even the kids' costumes are more sexy than spooky or scary.
Personally, I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna be, but I've got this nice chain-mail hoodie... (BTW, the only Halloween costume I actually remember wearing as a kid -- from age 6 to maybe 11 -- was that of a spaceman.)
The only costume I remember was some kind of medieval princess that my mom made. It was pale yellow with long billowing sleeves and a black velvet-like vest with braided gold trim.
One thing I always hated back then (early 1960's) was getting pennies thrown into my trick or treat bag. If it wasn't edible, I didn't want it!!
