Being a confirmed nerd, it took me a while to try bell bottoms, but once I got a pair (around 1970) they were all I'd wear. I also let my hair grow long, and even briefly tried a mustache. Oooh, daring! I looked really creepy.

in 1965, bell bottoms were mandatory, I was in the Navy till 1969, I thought they were cool anyway

ok, but they had to break on your feet or shoes...I still have mine and wear them...

I can remember buying my first pair. And many pairs after that.
