Tommie - Pillarless hardtop vs. air conditioning? I don't see the connection. I know that higher highway speeds caused convertible sales to plummet.

Yes, and they had those little triangular windows in front on both sides along with the big ones that rolled down.

Remember when cars had floor vents? Both the driver and the front passenger could open a vent on the floorboard that made the hot, un-air conditioned days more bearable.
