Well, Duff, you tried.
If you challenge cherished beliefs, though, people act irrationally as you can see.

Nice attempt though.

Settle dow, everyone. I find this exchange interesting, and would encourage site members to share their memories and opinions without getting into shouting matches or duels.

Kt, one good piece of evidence is that the Soviet Union is gone and we are still here. Your disgusting comments have no place here. I am surprised that the webmaster has not yet banned you. Your diatribes are extremely inappropriate for this site.

heh heh heh. Still no empirically defensible evidence presented, of course, but then true believers rarely do so.

Kteis, your comments are inappropriate for this site. The webmaster should ban you. There are plenty of political forums for you to post your totally incorrect drivel.

where to start? why is it when criticizing Kennedy people assume that I am conservative and American, neither of which is true. Kennedy faced impeachment just as surely as Nixon, but got taken dead which stopped the process.
I may be "wrong on so many levels" but nobody contradicted one point. Kennedy was no saint, nor particularly good as a statesman.
At least tricky Dick established diplomatic ties with China

Kt: Spoken like a typical, true braindead republican. If Nixon had been in the Whitehouse in October 1962, there's a very good chance most of us, including you, would not be alive today. His paranoia and lack of self-confidence led to him cheating against a much better man 10 years later. After getting caught and getting backed into a corner, he bailed out to prevent facing impeachment music. This is the kind of serious offense we have the impeachment option for; NOT for trying to keep a lousy blowjob secret.

Kties, this is not the place for you to have your Right Wing frustrations aired. You are wrong on so many levels, I wouldn't know where to start, but your comments were totally inappropriate. Go to a political forum to vent your frustrations.

The comment "Ask not what your country" was plagiarized from Kahlil Gibran, without attribution. That, sadly, was typical of Kennedy.
Had he not been shot, he would likely have faced charges for vote irregularities in illinois.
The Cuban Missile Crisis was a debacle of Kennedy's own making which nearly wound up starting a nuclear war; yet despite the fact that he had to eat crow to Kruschev and get US missiles out of Turkey, it was hailed as a victory.
He was afraid to say no, it seems, to the pentagon; that cost the country dearly.
Despite all these things, he is considered a hero, yet Nixon is considered a disaster. surprising what a decent PR company can do for even the most inept politician.

I was about 9 yrs old, when I heard his speech: "Ask NOT what your country can DO for YOU--Ask what YOU CAN DO for your Country",...It made an impact on me & I became interested in politics & "campaigned" for Kennedy in our neighborhood & a little beyond...Needless to say when he was murdered, that really affected me in a way I was unfamiliar with...Now I don't care what "party" a candidate belongs to..I vote for them if I agree with him/her--have a feeling of trust, & BELIEVE in that candidate..
