Air-mail letter/envelope
Back when first-class U.S. mail cost 3 cents, international air-mail was very expensive, so we wrote on tissue paper that didn't even need an envelope; the paper folded to become its own envelope.

I had a pen pal for several years when I was in high school. She lived in France and I remember sending all those letters in the special air mail envelopes. We each wrote part of our letters in French and part in English. It was pretty exciting getting letters all the way from Paris!
