"He's everywhere, he's everywhere!" This was a hilarious series of short radio plays unleashed on the public by, I believe, Dick Orkin and Bert Bertis. I first heard it in 1968, in Syracuse, NY. The plot involves a shoe salesman named Benton Harbor who decides to help the police fight Crime And/Or Eee-vill. But he can only do it in his spare time, on weekends. The title comes from the fact that he needs a crime-fighter's costume, but the town's costume shop is almost sold out and he must choose between a bunny rabbit, a teddy bear, and a chicken. Since the bunny doesn't strike fear in the hearts of criminals (he asks one on the street for an opinion), he opts for the chicken suit.

I think the series is available for MP3 downloading, and I highly recommend it for family car trips. The same folks were also responsible for a funny series featuring Newton Snookers, the self-proclaimed Tooth Fairy.

I remember this running on one of the Louisville radio stations that I listened to - WAKY or WKLO.

KZQZ 1430 in St. Louis still plays episodes four times a day! Also audio play is available by searching Google.

Late 60s sounds right. I used to listen to the "Winged Warrior" on WKBW - 1520 on the AM dial in Buffalo.

KXOK radio in St. Louis was airing Chickenman in 1971.

I got hooked on Chickenman and the Tooth Fairy when I was in the Air Force stationed in Germany throughout most of the 1970's. These shows along with a bunch of Old Time Radio shows were staples on AFN radio.

I was stationed in Germany from 1970 to '71 and I did enjoy Chickenman and all the old radio shows AFN aired.
