I'm astounded that this program ever made it onto the air. Women with sick children and other hardships competed for the best sob story, as measured by an audience applause meter. The winner -- the one with the sobbiest story -- was crowned Queen for a Day, and might win a refrigerator or something from the Spiegel catalog. Great.
