I had a number of these little die-cast vehicles- loved them. Another good one was Tootsie Toys. They made all kinds of vehicles: cars, trucks, buses (I had a 50's Greyhound bus), planes, military vehicles, ships. I think most of them were around 25 cents in the early-mid 50's. When visiting my grandparents, they'd give my sister and I each a quarter to go around the corner to the Ben Franklin 5 and 10, and more often than not, I'd pick out one of those vehicles. No sales tax back then, in Indiana.

I always preferred these to Hotwheels... Those tended to go to wild-looking hot-rod cars with gigantic motors sticking out the hood, etc. Matchbox looked like real cars that I'd see on the road every day, which I much preferred.
