Yes! Sandy Becker was the first host/performer of "Wonderama!" on Sunday afternoons on WABD TV Ch.5 in NYC..But he only did the show for one season..because he was doing other tv shows on Ch.5 and hosting "Young Dr. Malone" on CBS Radio and other projects..the stress of mc'ing the program for
six hours live got to be too much and he left the program in August, 1956 (Sandy
began hosting the show on Sunday September 25, 1955)..Herb Sheldon became
the series second mc..for two seasons (9/16/1956-8/1958)..Then Bill Britten mc's
the show for the remainder of the 1958 tv season. Sonny Fox hosted the show for
8 and half years (1/4/1959-8/1967) and Bob McCallister hosted the series for ten
years (8/1967-12/25/1977). BTW: Herb Sheldon was the first mc to host the show on Sunday mornings.

I believe Sonny Fox was the original host of both "Just for Fun" on Saturday mornings, and Wonderama on Sunday mornings on WNEW channel 5. I was a faithful watcher of the show.

LB, you could try the Museum of Television and Radio in New York, or possibly someone at WNYW (formerly WNEW channel 5) could help.

Wasn't Sandy Becker the original host of Wonderama? I only remember the immortal Bob McAllister.
