My dad's first Buick was a 1949 four-door Buick Special he bought in Wilmington DE. Every two years after that, he'd buy a new one until about 1970, after he retired. Wish I had kept a picture of each of those cars. They were wonderful.

I had a beautiful 1953 Buick Super Riviera in Hawaii. Same beautiful green color. A very eye pleasing car.

That is not a Special; it's a Super. The Special was smaller and had a four window design, not the six window that this car has. The Special was the entry level Buick, on the same platform as the Olds 88, while the Super was on the same platform as Cadillac. The Super was one rung below the Roadmaster, which would have had one more porthole.
