Beech-Nut chewing gum is long gone, although the Ferrara Candy Company has been making Fruit Stripe gum for years ("Beech-Nut" is not mentioned anywhere on the package.)

This stuff is gross but they still make it...

Those "Bandstand" kids set the standard for "cool" lol.
They also invented their own way of clapping in rhythm to the songs. It's all on YT.

Beechnut Spearmint Gum sponsored the Dick Clark Show, seen on Saturday nights in 1958 and '59. When I was 12 or 13, I hated when my parents would take us out to dinner and I had to miss the show. The slogan was that Beechnut Spearmint Gum was "flavorific," and all the kids in the audience were shown wearing buttons that said, "ific."

As a kid, I remember my grandmother sending sticks of Beechnut Stripe Gum in with her weekly letters.

I just realized that Beechnut Peppermint gum and Beeman's Pepsin Gum were two different products. Beechnut Peppermint gave Wrigley's Spearmint and Doublemint a good run for the money, and Beeman's had a really unique but pleasant flavor.
