One of my favorite models.  Talk about "flash."  Yep, this was a flashy car.

Folks down the street (Linwood Ave in Fort Lee, NJ) had one...I thought it was the coolest car...they also had juniper hedges and I liked to pick the red berries on my way home from school (most everybody WALKED home - unlike today where a kid (God forbid) walking home is newsworthy and his parents risk being charged with either child neglect ot child endangerment)...Mom & Dad called it stealing and I got my ass whupped...my mistake for showing them the berries...taught me a lesson about keeping my yap shut...still (to me) one of the iconic designs of the 50s(IIRC, I was in 4th grade at the time) Still remember the smell of burning leaves in the Fall as I walked home (now forbidden by the [inflammatory adjective removed - DK] EPA)

Yeah guess you're right. The back tail lights of the two models were similar if not identical.

Immortalized as "Ramon", a lowrider, in the Pixar movie "Cars".

This was my first car! I bought it from my Aunt in 67 or 68 for $100. It was in perfect condition. Wish i still had it!

My brother had one of these. We all loved it. Now that was style! I'll never forget the buzz going around at the time about how if you went too fast,(100 mph), the rear end would lift off the road because of the "fins". Never happened to us!
